Mathieu Coppey is a CNRS researcher in the LOCCO lab belonging to the physico-chemistry department of the Curie Institute, Paris, France. He did his studies in physics with an emphasis on complex systems and statistical physics. He did his PhD on diffusion limited reaction rates at the UPMC, Paris, under the supervision of Michel Moreau. He then moved to Princeton, NJ, for his postdoc with Stas Shvartsman where he worked on morphogen gradients in the early Drosophila embryo. He is currently interested in cell polarity and migration, applying light tools to control intracellular gradients of biochemical activity. He is also pariticpating in projects related to the early Dorsophila development, 3D genome organisation, intracellular signal transduction, and signaling nanoclusters.
